Focus Card: Why your annual plan implementation work does not get done?
Non-completion of plan implementation work is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately because it only gets worse as the timeline progresses. It always snowballs. If a team member doesn’t get it done in the very beginning, what demonstrates that they will ever work to get it done? Part of the point of the Single Page Plan process and Monthly Action Plan meetings is to instill a culture change towards execution and success.
Why didn’t the work get done?
* Lack of Capability – Underlying talent issue must be addressed.
* Lack of Time – Priorities and/or actual workload issues.
* Lack of Willingness – Attitude issues in general. The team member doesn’t believe in the process of planning. Defiance for specific reason toward leadership of team or members of team.
The Owner/CEO must evaluate each member of the team or for those team members that did not do the work and then develop an action plan to address the issue(s). Otherwise, implementation will fail.
